This 2" x 2" x 1/2" black malleable iron reducing tee is designed for use in threaded steel or iron pipe systems. It facilitates a branch connection from the run of a larger diameter pipe to a smaller outlet. This fitting features three female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads and is manufactured for mechanical strength and leak-resistant performance in gas, steam, air, and non-potable water piping systems.

Made from ASTM A197 compliant malleable iron and produced in accordance with ASME B16.3 standards, the tee supports Class 150 service ratings. Its black finish indicates suitability for indoor use in dry or fuel gas applications where zinc-coated fittings are not required.

Black malleable iron is used where corrosion from external moisture is minimal, and where zinc contamination must be avoided (e.g., gas systems). For potable water or corrosive environments, galvanized or alternative materials may be required per local code.
