Installation Guidance

Use with Type K, L, or M copper tubing or approved equivalents. Tubing should be flared using a 45° flaring tool, deburred, and inspected for uniformity. The union should be tightened with two wrenches to avoid tube deformation. Do not overtighten. No pipe dope or PTFE tape is needed on the flare faces.

Common Applications

This fitting is specified in high-performance systems including potable water distribution, refrigeration and HVAC lines, and fuel gas service piping where flare-type joints are mandated by code or system design. It is suitable for use in both new construction and mechanical upgrades or maintenance tasks.

Note

Brass flared fittings are not rated for use with soft plastic tubing and should not be substituted in systems requiring compression or PEX connections. Always verify compatibility with local codes and material standards before installation.
